About The Position

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of West Memphis is seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Mental Health Technicians (Youth Care Workers) to join their team. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push, and pull as required to safely assist patients and perform crisis interventions
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a behavioral health, psychiatric, residential treatment, hospital, assisted living, or healthcare setting
  • Military Corpsman experience
  • Education or work experience in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Education, or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with children and adolescents receiving behavioral health treatment.
  • Provide continuous supervision and ensure patient safety throughout the shift.
  • Conduct scheduled patient observation rounds and accurately document behaviors.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities and encourage independence.
  • Teach, model, and reinforce positive coping skills, communication, and appropriate social behaviors.
  • Escort patients to meals, therapy sessions, recreation, and other activities.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic treatment environment.
  • Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and therapeutic de-escalation when necessary.
  • Safely perform physical interventions or restraints when required (paid training provided).
