As a Mental Health Technician on the Behavioral Health Unit, you’ll support nurses and clinical staff in caring for adults experiencing acute emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric difficulties. You’ll assist with daily care, safety monitoring, therapeutic interactions, and documentation to ensure patients receive safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Working in Behavioral Health gives you hands-on experience with crisis stabilization, therapeutic communication, de-escalation, safety rounding, and supporting patients with complex emotional and psychiatric needs. Through strong teamwork and daily practice in observation and behavioral assessment, you’ll gain confidence quickly and build a strong foundation for future growth in mental health and clinical roles. The Behavioral Health Unit is a 10-bed inpatient unit caring for adults experiencing acute emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric crises. With a small, skilled team and strong multidisciplinary collaboration, the unit provides focused, patient-centered care in a calm, structured environment ideal for building therapeutic and behavioral health skills.
