About The Position

Kettering Health Behavioral Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Mental Health Technician for their Adult Psych unit. This role involves providing vital services for patient care, including personal needs and comfort, with age-specific considerations. The technician will function as a member of the treatment team, performing patient care and program duties, and managing the milieu. Responsibilities include documenting patient care, observations, and charting, assisting in creating a therapeutic environment, and adhering to hospital and department policies. The role operates under the supervision of a registered nurse and requires data entry skills and phone system management.

Requirements

High school graduate with two or more years of post-high school education, majoring in behavioral health, psychology, sociology, nursing, or other psychiatric/medical related program.

Responsibilities

Performs vital services in caring for personal needs and provision of comfort to patients and families
Perform services in manners specific to the age of the patient population
Functions as a member of the treatment team and performs specific patient care and program duties
Responsibility for program implementation and milieu management
Documents and records patient care including observation, protection, and charting provisions of personal care according to direction of registered nurse
Assist in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients
Work is performed in accordance with established program documents, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital and department.
Works under supervision of a registered nurse
Data entry skills
Answering multiple phone system and retrieving voicemails
