Primary responsibilities include: Direct one-to-one observation of patients in the ED, while documenting the patient’s condition during monitoring. Assist with crisis intervention by utilizing approved de-escalation and calming techniques as appropriate. Participates in mitigating the safety of patients experiencing psychosocial crises and their physical environment. Immediately escalating safety or patient behavioral concerns to ED nurses, providers, or other colleagues including security personnel. Provide emotional support with calming techniques when appropriate.
