About The Position

The Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center (OCCIC) is seeking Mental Health Technicians to join their highly skilled multi-discipline team of professionals. This role involves providing care to high-risk individuals in a state facility located in the heart of the metro area. As part of the treatment team, the technician will develop and maintain supportive relationships with consumers to address their strengths, goals, and barriers to recovery. Duties include direct care to consumers in inpatient, outpatient, or residential settings, monitoring recovery progress, engaging in de-escalation activities, and participating in and managing recovery, wellness, and social skills groups.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Submit to a physical examination upon a conditional offer of employment
  • Meet physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds
  • Meet physical examination requirements of being able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds
  • Submit to urinalysis to test for drugs upon a conditional offer of employment for safety sensitive positions

Responsibilities

  • Work as a part of the treatment team
  • Develop and maintain a supportive relationship with consumers to address strengths, goals and barriers to recovery
  • Provide direct care to consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient, outpatient or residential care setting
  • Monitor recovery progress toward treatment goals
  • Perform de-escalation activities
  • Participate in recovery, wellness, and social skills groups
  • Develop and manage other group activities
