About The Position

As a Mental Health Technician (MHT), you'll be an integral part of our treatment team, providing ongoing care, supervision, and positive role modeling for patients. Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing or NAR required
- One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- Successful completion of CPR certification and crisis intervention training within 10 days of employment, prior to assisting with restraining procedures.
- May be required to work flexible hours.
Nice To Haves
- Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record vital signs
- Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN
- Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision
- Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques
- Assist patients through discharge, guide them in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene
- Assist with hospital codes
- Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
