About The Position

The Mental Health Technician III (MHT III) serves as a lead clinical support professional, providing advanced direct care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to patients with complex emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral conditions. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. The MHT III maintains a safe, trauma-informed therapeutic environment and serves as a milieu leader by modeling advanced behavioral interventions, mentoring staff, coordinating daily shift programming for highly acute individuals, and performing specialized medical and technical support procedures under the delegation of licensed personnel. The MHT III delivers and oversees highly skilled, trauma-informed care to patients and families. The role includes managing a safe and therapeutic milieu, coordinating routine safety checks, and carrying out high-acuity one-to-one interventions. The MHT III contributes to treatment plan development, leads complex crisis interventions, facilitates advanced therapeutic groups, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team on complex discharge planning. The role also requires advanced competency in age-appropriate pediatric care and safely performing medical support procedures, including specimen collection, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and splint placements. This is a part-time, 12-hour night-shift position serving the Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness.
