About The Position

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) and Driver delivers compassionate, high-quality care to patients hospitalized for psychiatric and emotional disorders and provides safe transportation to and from the facility. The MHT supports the hospital’s philosophy of care by fostering a safe, therapeutic environment, maintaining ongoing communication with nursing staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans. The job description is not all-inclusive; the employee may perform other related duties to meet the hospital’s ongoing needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Handle with Care and Abuse and Neglect training; training is required and provided by the employer.
Active driver’s license.
At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in behavioral healthcare, phone triage, tele-health, or case management, or a combination of education and experience.
Ability to multitask and prioritize, with strong time-management skills.
Must successfully pass a background check, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical, and provide positive employment references.
With or without reasonable accommodations, ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
