About The Position

The Mental Health Technician is a member of the treatment team and is responsible for specifically assigned duties, including patient observation rounds, suicide risk observation, and assisting with behavior modification programs. The position is with Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, which includes a behavioral health unit serving teens and adults.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in the behavioral health field or a healthcare setting, or one year of experience involving public contact. Examples of qualifying public-contact experience include providing care or guidance for children, elders, or others; volunteer work providing respite to caregivers; or leading youth groups.
• Quality communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• An associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient observation rounds.
