About The Position
As a Mental Health Tech (MHT), you'll work alongside the nursing team to support quality patient care on the unit. This role exists to help meet day-to-day patient needs while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.
Requirements
- Certified Nurses Aide preferred
- Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Previous work experience with psychiatric and/or geriatric patients preferred
Responsibilities
- Providing direct care and assisting with activities of daily living
- Supporting group activities as directed
- Observing patient status and the physical environment and promptly communicating behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric changes to licensed staff
- Helping with nutrition needs in coordination with nurses
- Using therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques when needed
- Completing basic clerical tasks as indicated
