Mental Health Tech Part-Time
About The Position
Palm Point Behavioral Health is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital located in Titusville, Florida. We treat adults, children, and adolescents with a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. We are currently seeking a qualified, part-time Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our team. The MHT provides direct care support and functions as an active part of the treatment team, offering continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adolescent patients. The Mental Health Tech works under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Prefer one (1) year related experience.
- Psychiatric Technician experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates group activities tailored to the appropriate topic, age, and level of understanding as approved by the Program Coordinator.
- Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
- Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
