Requirements

• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• 0 - 1 year Mental Health Unit/Direct Patient Care
• Basic Life Support (BLS). provided by American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of employment.
• WELLE Certification. Completion of WELLE training (Non-Abusive Psychological & Physical Intervention) within 90-days of employment; annual re-certification will be required thereafter.
• Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with patients in a mental health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, support, supervision and safety for patients on an Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.
• Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and under direct supervision of an RN to ensure the provision of quality patient care.
• Assists in developing and leading milieu groups and activities.
• Works directly with other staff to provide patient and staff safety.
• Monitors all patients for any changes in mood, affect and/or physical conditions and reports this to the nurse.
