About The Position

Turning Point Care Center has an opening for a PRN (as-needed) Patient Tech/Mental Health Tech (MHT). MHTs play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients and are a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total client care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches. Requirements

  • One (1) year experience in a patient related field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to communicate therapeutically and age appropriately.
  • Current Georgia Driver's License with: No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years, Not having multiple violations for driving without insurance, No more than 2 at fault accidents on record in the past 3 years, No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 7 years, No convictions for serious infractions such as reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or fleeing a police officer, No convictions for vehicular homicide manslaughter

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience with psychiatric, trauma, or substance abuse patients, preferred.
  • Further training/education in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within a multidiscipline team approach.
  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Completes patient safety rounds timely.
  • Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
  • Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper Crisis Prevention/De-escalation techniques.
  • Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assists in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.
  • Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds appropriately to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.
  • Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
