About The Position

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) III serves as a lead clinical support professional, providing advanced direct care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to patients with complex emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral conditions. Operating with a high degree of autonomy under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, the MHT III not only maintains a safe, trauma-informed therapeutic environment but also serves as a milieu leader. This role is critical in modeling advanced behavioral interventions, mentoring staff, coordinating daily shift programming for highly acute individuals, and executing specialized medical and technical support procedures within the crisis center under the delegation of licensed personnel. The MHT III is responsible for delivering and overseeing highly skilled, trauma-informed care to patients and families. Key responsibilities include the active management of a safe and therapeutic milieu, coordinating routine safety checks, and executing high-acuity 1:1 intervention. The MHT III plays an active role in treatment plan development, leads complex crisis interventions, facilitates advanced therapeutic groups, and collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary team on complex discharge planning.
