About The Position

The Mental Health Coordinator - Supervisor (LCSW/LPC) will oversee mental health services delivery by supervising licensed mental health professionals (LMHPs) within a correctional healthcare setting. In addition to providing clinical expertise—including assessments, therapy, and treatment planning—this role ensures cohesive patient care, staff development, compliance with state and federal regulations, and alignment with organizational policies.

Requirements

  • A current, valid state(s) unrestricted LCSW or LPC
  • Master’s degree or higher in mental health, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a correctional healthcare or similar environment.
  • Experience in roles that involve direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to the correctional setting is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient mental health services—conduct assessments, crisis intervention, therapy, and treatment planning.
  • Offer structured clinical supervision to LMHPs and residents, ensuring that care, documentation, and professional growth meet or exceed standards consistent with Washington licensing board requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor interdisciplinary treatment plans, and participate in comprehensive case management.
  • Facilitate staff training, mentorship, and performance feedback to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient progress, care plans, and supervision notes in compliance with policy and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with medical, correctional, and administrative staff to streamline clinical operations and patient care.
  • Maintain and enforce adherence to facility-specific rules, security protocols, and chain-of-command while functioning within a correctional environment.
  • Uphold quality improvement, infection control, environmental, and occupational safety practices.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to requests from correctional and MEDIKO staff per established conduct standards.
  • Follow MEDIKO's Standards of Professional Conduct.
  • Respond to requests from correctional staff and MEDIKO staff in accordance with facility guidelines and conduct standards.
  • Follow the facility's rules, regulations, and chain of command while working within the detention/correctional environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
