Driscoll Children’s Hospital aims to create a thoughtful, impactful preventative and treatment program to help care givers and children struggling behaviorally, or emotionally to provide them with the tools, resources, and coping skills to help them work through challenging times. The hospital based Mental health specialist will provide a wide variety of services to include individual, family, collateral and group counseling, diagnostic evaluation, health and behavioral assessments, safety planning, crisis intervention, and referral to community resources as they address the impact of illness through mental health support and treatment. Driscoll Children’s Hospital aims to provide population-level intervention to prevent child abuse and treat mental illness. This role will serve to provide training mental health specialists to better assist children and adolescents dealing with two most common issues—anxiety and depression as well support caregivers/parents with caring for chronically ill children.
