About The Position

Thrive Behavioral Network is seeking compassionate, out-of-the-box thinkers to join their AMAZING Behavioral Healthcare Team. The position involves direct care services to clients, assisting them in maintaining a clean and safe living environment, preparing meals, and supervising, training, and assisting clients in all aspects of their lives to foster self-confidence and self-worth.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet the qualifications in 245I.04 Subdv. 14 (a).
  • Must have an associate of arts degree or two years full-time postsecondary education in one of the behavioral sciences or human services; OR be a registered nurse without a bachelor's degree; OR within the previous ten years has three years of personal life experience with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Must be fluent in the non-English language or competent in the culture of the ethnic group to which at least 20 percent of the mental health rehabilitation worker's clients belong.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care services to clients.
  • Assist clients in maintaining a clean, safe living environment.
  • Prepare meals and supervise clients during meal times.
  • Supervise, train, and assist clients in all aspects of their life.
  • Foster an atmosphere that stimulates clients' development of self-confidence and self-worth.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment in client living and staff areas.
  • Oversee client domestic responsibilities, educating and assisting them as needed.
  • Verbally communicate with clients in a supportive and positive fashion.
  • Supervise and be actively involved with clients at all appropriate times, stimulating positive social interaction.
  • Perform quarter-hour checks on clients.
  • Act as an appropriate role model for clients.
  • Plan and be actively involved in all recreational and programmatic aspects of the scheduled shift.
  • Provide appropriate supervision, assistance, and training in meeting clients’ physical and emotional needs (nutrition, grooming, socialization, family involvement, etc.).
  • Provide supervision, assistance, and training to clients in meeting their medical and health care needs.
  • Supervise administration of medications according to healthcare providers’ prescriptions and organizational policies.
  • Assist in making and keeping healthcare provider, psychological, and dental appointments.
  • Document all medical concerns, appointments, medical administrations, destruction, etc.
  • Provide education and assistance to clients in managing their personal funds.
  • Assist clients in filling out needed forms for applications (M.A., S.S.I., G.A., etc.).
  • Assist clients in budgeting personal funds.
  • Assist clients in developing a plan to pay or defer any previous bills.
