Summary The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) teaches, models, and encourages the use of positive behavioral supports and specific behavioral interventions to assist children with high acuity needs to reduce functional impairment. A Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist provide interventions in homes, community, or other locations depending on client needs.

Requirements

  • AA Degree in psychology, social work, child development or related field plus 6 years’ experience providing behavioral intervention to children and adolescents with emotional disturbances or intensive needs.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in psychology, social work, child development or related field plus 2 year experience working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbances
  • Ability to foster positive therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and other community program staff to ensure a collaborative approach is used at all times
  • Experience with skill building and rehabilitative work
  • Community resource awareness

Responsibilities
