About The Position
Wilson Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF), in the Uptown Neighborhood of Chicago, IL, has Immediate Openings for Mental Health Professionals (MHPs) to join our team. This is a full-time, overnight position working Wednesday through Sunday. If you are a Mental Health Counselor, Case Manager, or Behavioral Health Case Manager, we want to talk to YOU! Wilson Care is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDHP). We are dedicated to the treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation of individuals affected by chronic psychiatric illnesses. Located in a residential housing setting in the historic Uptown Neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, we treat a variety of conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, as well as those who are dually diagnosed with a mental illness and substance use disorders.
Requirements
- Professional Experience Treating Adults with Psychiatric Illnesses
- Reside in the Chicagoland Area
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Field (counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in other field + 2 years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Certificate of psychiatric rehabilitation from an Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) approved program + High School Diploma/GED + 2 years’ experience in providing mental health services
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) Licensure through the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA)
- Occupational therapy assistant + 1 year experience in a mental health setting
- High School Diploma + 5 years of supervised clinical experience in mental health or human services
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with consumer and treatment team to complete assessments and develop therapeutic treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic care plans and activities in a compassionate and caring manner
- Recognize, note, and inform treatment team when a consumer is not at their baseline of symptoms and behaviors
- Lead groups and hold one-on-one sessions including engagement with evidenced based approaches
- Collaborate with community agencies to coordinate care, including the Moving On Program
- Crisis management and intervention
- Effectively manage a caseload of up to 32 individuals
- Participation in creation of discharge plans and recommendations for other levels of care
