About The Position

Our Public Health and Human Services department is currently accepting applications for a Mental Health Professional in Duluth, Minnesota in the Adult Mental Health unit. Mental Health Professionals determine eligibility for individuals seeking targeted case management services who meet statutory requirements as individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI). The position provides monthly clinical supervision for social workers in the Adult Mental Health Unit and Treatment Courts. It also provides case management services for both voluntary cases and those court ordered through civil commitment. This position offers a 37.5-hour work week for a total of 75 hours per pay period. St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree.
  • Possession of a current valid license as a Mental Health Professional according to Minnesota Statute.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Providing mental health services to prevent, diagnose, and treat mental, behavioral and emotional disorders in individuals, families and groups.
  • Providing clinical supervision for human services professionals.
  • Conducting individual, family and group counseling and psychotherapy to children and adults.
  • Conducting couples counseling.
  • Consulting with and providing direct clinical supervision for human service professionals.
  • Conducting observations.
  • Preparing written reports and making recommendations.
  • Determining eligibility for individuals seeking targeted case management services who meet statutory requirements as individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
  • Providing monthly clinical supervision for social workers in the Adult Mental Health Unit and Treatment Courts.
  • Providing case management services for both voluntary cases and those court ordered through civil commitment.
