The Mental Health Professional II provides treatment and support services to clients in either natural community settings or office-based settings. This role involves service coordination, developing and implementing treatment goals in collaboration with the client and team, and providing individual and supportive therapy and symptom management. The position requires conducting comprehensive assessments of clients' psychiatric history, mental status, diagnosis, physical and dental health, substance use, education and employment, social development, daily living activities, and family structure. Direct clinical services include supportive psychotherapy on an individual, group, and family basis, both in-office and in community settings, to teach behavioral symptom-management techniques. The role also involves ongoing assessment of clients' symptoms and response to treatment, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans, and providing symptom education. Additionally, the Mental Health Professional II offers ongoing assessment, problem-solving, skill training, supervision, and environmental adaptations to assist clients with daily living, housing, and financial support. Planning and structuring social and leisure activities, providing on-call crisis interventions, and maintaining confidentiality are also key responsibilities. The position requires adherence to Network and departmental policies regarding safety, performance improvement, financial responsibility, attendance, and dress code, and demonstrates competency in age-appropriate patient care.
