About The Position

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Greater Greenville Mental Health Center, 124 Mallard Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Under limited supervision, you will lead an Assertive Community Treatment) team providing evidenced based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower level of care options.

Requirements

• A Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences or a related field
• Must be licensed as licensed psychologist, LISW-CP, LPC or LMFT.
• Three (3) years of experience working with adults diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness
• A minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate experience.
• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
• Have practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods and counseling practices and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of serious and persistent mental illness.
• Have the ability to listen and understand and communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
• Have knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, family and group psychotherapy.
• Have the ability to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives.
• Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines.
• Have the ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports.
• Have the ability to organize and manage time.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administrative operations of the team.
• Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best and ethical practices.
• Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries.
• Ensure services are documented in accordance with OMH/QA requirements.
• Provide direct supervision to ACT team members to include but not limited to facilitating clinical supervision meetings, treatment team meetings, coordinating training for team and completing evaluations.
• Ensure a department commitment to cultural affairs and ensures all direct reports have a cultural affairs component to his or her planning document as a measurable objective.
• Comply with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan and ensure timely completion of prior authorizations.
• Pursue professional development through collegial consultation, continuing education and licensure.
