This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center, Dorchester Clinic, 106 Springview Lane, Summerville SC 29485. Under general supervision you will provide mental health counseling and case management services to child adolescent patients open to the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center. Services to be provided in the school, clinics, and community settings.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
  • Evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, drive from location to location, and lift up to 5 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services.
  • Considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric settings.
  • Working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies.
  • Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment.
  • Ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality person-centered care as demonstrated by the use of evidence-based clinical interventions.
  • Provide all forms of direct services as credentialed by the Center in an efficient manner as evidenced by meeting the established productivity expectation.
  • Provide Family Therapy.
  • Documentation is reflective of the quality care expected of this position.
  • Demonstrate recognition of importance of collaboration and team-work within the Center and the community.
  • Ensure patient functionality is measured according to established standards.
  • Retain overall responsibility for meeting Quality Assurance standards.
  • Ensure timely response to request for services.
  • Comply with all BHDD/CDMHC policies and protocols, applicable QI, Corporate Compliance, Cultural Competency and CARF policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations and attends all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations and Center policy.
