This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), 448 Lakeshore Pkwy, NorthLake II, Rock Hill, SC 29730 The Office of Mental Health’s mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences, or a related field.
  • Ability to lift five (5) pounds.
  • Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule and understand this position is considered essential and may be called back during crises / disasters/ emergencies.
  • Be able to deliver services in the community and patients' homes.
  • Have the ability to perform all job duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF, OMH, CCMHC, Quality Assurance, Compliance, HIPAA, Transcultural and Productivity Standards, Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced and complex medical necessary clinical services including, but not limited to, assessment, individual family and group therapy, as well as intake and ongoing assessments to the designated population, and perform therapeutic interventions that are directly related to the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) treatment modality.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and modify treatment plans.
  • Provide a treatment program for prevention and early intervention with youth at risk for severe social, emotional, behavioral difficulties; imminent risk for out of home placement; youth involved with DJJ, DSS, or other systems of care; or youth discharging from out of home placement.
  • Increase collaborative efforts between CCMHC and community organizations, involving all in the implementation process and provide services in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Responsible for case management and ancillary services for assigned caseload. These services to include referrals, advocacy, interagency staffings, and coordinating care between agencies / service providers.
  • Formulate recovery-based plans of care with person centered goals and objectives.
  • Conduct timely reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Maintain client charts according to the requirements of current Quality Assurance manual and assure high quality services have been provided in a culturally sensitive manner to the clients.
  • Attend and participate in Treatment Team meetings/staffings, including staffings with MD at CCMHC, required mandated trainings, general staffing and scheduled school meetings.
  • Pursue continuing education and training.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with Mental Health Center staff, and community agencies, as well as clients and their families.
  • Work to overcome the stigma of mental illness and mental health services by providing education, training and support services to the community at large.
  • Provide therapeutic and emergency services to Child and Adolescent clients and their families.
  • Perform therapeutic interventions that are directly related to the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) treatment modality.
  • Assist supervisor with the task of increasing public awareness and appropriate utilization of MDFT.
  • Ensure frequent interaction with other community agencies and maintain positive professional relationships.
