About The Position

A licensed clinical professional responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services, primarily in a school setting, but potentially in an clinical office setting as well. Focuses on helping clients manage symptoms, improve coping mechanisms, achieve functional goals, and enhance overall psychological well-being. Ideal candidate possesses proficiency in various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care), and a deep commitment to ethical practice and collaborative care. Collaborating with school site staff is an extremely important aspect with this position.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or another human services related field
  • A minimum of one year of post-master’s clinical experience with major mental illness, counseling/therapy.
  • Nebraska Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) or Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) required, LIMHP preferred.
  • Ability to attentively listen to clients, understanding both verbal and non-verbal cues.
  • Capacity to understand and share the feelings of others.
  • Skill and ability to clearly express ideas and thoughts, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Awareness and appreciation of cultural differences and social determinants of health and their impact on mental health.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to adhere to all state, federal and organizational regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Ability to prioritize self-care to avoid burnout and maintain professional effectiveness.
  • Ability to solicit and accept feedback for ongoing improvement and learning
  • Ability to work set hours for their specific position which may include early morning, and/or some evenings
  • Ability to travel occasionally between locations as needed
  • Ability to provide services via telehealth as needed.
  • Available for occasional on-call coverage as scheduled/necessary

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling services to individuals and families through various communication methods (e.g., in-person, telehealth, etc.). Accurately assess client needs and strengths. Develop, update and review client goals and desired outcomes. Implement counseling modalities in a culturally competent and compassionate manner. Tailor services to the client, providing the best possible outcome. Refer clients to specialized or long-term care as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation to include all client contact and notes in the electronic medical records system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain acceptable satisfaction rate on all clinical services as measured by Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Maintain acceptable productivity standards.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary setting and collaborate with external parties as appropriate to coordinate care and address behavioral concerns/referrals.
  • Maintain professional and consistent communication with Supervisor/Manager on cases, client care and ideas for improvement in efficiency and efficacy of the program.
  • Provisionally licensed counselors must participate in ongoing, regular one-on-one supervision as required by the State.
  • Provide critical incident/crisis intervention as requested.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of local community referral resources and make appropriate, cost-effective referrals as warranted.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and continuing education.
  • Build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Follow and comply with all professional, ethical, safety, and compliance standards, rules and regulations.
  • Attend and support events and activities to increase awareness of the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
