POSITION: Mental Health Peer Support Specialist WORKSITE: Wolfe County Health and Wellness center EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Regular Full-Time DEGREE: High School/GED, peer support certification or complete peer support training upon hire approved by Department of Behavioral Health. SPECIAL SKILLS: Be a self identified person with history of mental illness, who has received treatment. JOB DUTIES: Use relevant personal stories to teach through experience. Serve as a role model for clients. Encourage client voice and choice during development and implementation of treatment planning. Support clients while receiving mental health services. Empower clients to be self-advocates. Help clients enhance relationships with community partners.
