About The Position

This position will perform various counseling functions with students as a school-based substance use disorder counselor in the Allegany County Public School System (ACPS) and at the Allegany County Health Department Outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program under close supervision from SUD program director. This position is responsible for evaluations, admissions, treatment planning, individual, and family/group counseling, crisis intervention, accurate recordkeeping, initiating referrals and consultation with agencies that are associated with our persons served.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Graduate Professional Counselor by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
  • Must possess certification as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) by the end of a 2-year period.
  • Employees assigned duties requiring the operation of a motor vehicle must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Responsibilities
