About The Position

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Mental Health Direct Care Professionals (Residential Services Technician) to join our Residential treatment teams. This opening is with our Ocean Street adult residential program. Ocean Street, with a capacity of eight residents, provides trauma-informed treatment and support services to adults living with mental illness complicated by co-occurring chronic health conditions as well as a potential substance use disorder. In a supportive, safe, and secure environment, the program meets the needs of individuals who have a major mental illness by providing psychosocial rehabilitation services and personal care services. The Residential Services Technician positions provide direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.
• Ability to work in a team environment required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
• Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
• If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check.
• If residential or ECE employee must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
• Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
• A good driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal support and supportive counseling to residents.
• Be part of a clinical team utilizing the tasks of daily living as instrumental treatment components while also helping to create a sense of permanency with a home like environment.
• Contribute to identifying needs or emerging needs, physical and mental health wellbeing, medication administration, personal support, watchful oversight, and milieu management.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized facility and in maintaining staff office, charts and documentation.
• Attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings, and participate in other meetings as necessary.
