About The Position

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking Mental Health Direct Care Professionals (Residential Services Technician) to join our Residential treatment teams. This opening is with our Bridge adult residential program, a 12-bed residential treatment program for homeless adults living with a major mental illness, many of whom also experience co-occurring conditions. The program addresses complex client needs using an integrated, individualized, and client-centered approach, operated 24 hours/day by staff trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health and substance use treatment. These positions provide direct service in a residential group care or transitional living setting. As a direct care worker and mental health support specialist, you will provide personal support and supportive counseling to residents, be part of a clinical team utilizing daily living tasks as instrumental treatment components, and help create a sense of permanency with a home-like environment. You will contribute to identifying needs, physical and mental health wellbeing, medication administration, personal support, watchful oversight, and milieu management. You will also help maintain a clean and organized facility and manage staff office, charts, and documentation. These positions attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings and other meetings as necessary. Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director or Program Coordinator.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check.
  • If residential or ECE employee must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • A good driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft office preferred.

Responsibilities
