About The Position

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking compassionate and motivated Mental Health Counselor / Program Staff to support children and adolescents in a structured, trauma-informed environment. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping youth build coping skills, improve behaviors, and work toward long-term emotional and behavioral stability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, or related field
Minimum of 1 year experience working with children or adolescents in behavioral health
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must obtain certification in the treatment of sexually aggressive youth within one year of hire (training begins after probationary period)
Ability to work assigned schedule (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Ability to obtain required PA clearances
Ability to reliably commute to Bloomsburg, PA

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling under supervision
Assist with implementation of therapeutic programming and activities
Support youth in developing coping skills and emotional regulation
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members
Participate in weekly supervision and consultation sessions
Maintain accurate clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment updates, reports)
Assist with treatment planning and program implementation
Support communication with families when appropriate
