This position conducts mental health assessments, develops and implements individualized treatment approaches, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and supports staff in addressing behavioral and emotional health needs to promote stability, progress, and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Master's level degree in health and human services field
  • LMSW, LPC, LCSW, BCBA or similar state licensure required (current license in any state) and willing to obtain Michigan license upon hire
  • Two to five years' experience in working with developmentally disabled or catastrophically injured individuals, including traumatic brain injury
  • Attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize independently
  • The ability to multi-task and in a busy office environment
  • Proficient customer service skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Willingness to travel to different NeuLife Rehabilitation locations throughout Macomb and Oakland counties
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist clients with mobility and care needs.
  • Ability to travel between multiple locations as required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health and psychosocial assessments for persons served residing within the program.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans, behavioral support strategies, and therapeutic interventions based on assessed needs.
  • Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling services as appropriate.
  • Support crisis intervention, de-escalation planning, and follow-up recommendations for persons served experiencing mental health or behavioral concerns.
  • Provide training and guidance to the management team, direct care staff, and other team members on therapeutic approaches, behavioral supports, trauma-informed care, and documentation expectations.
  • Represent behavioral health services at person served team meetings, case conferences, and appointments as needed.
  • Monitor progress toward treatment goals and complete timely progress notes, reports, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary team members, outside providers, guardians, and family members as appropriate regarding treatment needs and progress.
  • Assist with care coordination and referrals for psychiatric, counseling, and community-based services as needed.
  • Provide after-hours on-call support if needed for persons served having mental health or behavioral issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies, payer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
