About The Position

Volunteers of America North Louisiana is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing personalized housing, health, and human services to children and families, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and senior adults. With a mission to provide opportunity, promote dignity, and inspire change, the agency operates 40 programs aimed at addressing pressing community issues. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, required.
  • Provisionally licensed in the State of Louisiana.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Pass a drug screen.
  • Take a TB test.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with recipients and their families.
  • Provide individual and family supportive counseling.
  • Provide crisis intervention and crisis de-escalation support.
  • Provide educational and skills-building interventions to improve client/family functioning.
  • Provide interventions in the office, client's home, and/or community.
  • Conduct and gather information for a psycho-social assessment.
  • Accurately and efficiently document client interactions.
  • Maintain effective collaborative relationships with other service agencies/programs in the community.
  • Provide referral and linkage to community supports as needed and appropriate.
  • Independently work and schedule counseling sessions and interventions.
  • Meet or exceed established key performance indicator goals.
  • Collaborate and consult with clinical supervisor frequently for professional growth and development.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings required by your program.
