Mental Health Clinician
About The Position
This position has primary responsibility for mental health services and case management services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. The Mental Health Specialist provides mental health services (including assessment and evaluation as assigned) and other services to clients referred to in the Community Services Program. Services include but are not limited to individual, family, and collateral therapy, treatment planning, etc. He/she acts as liaison with external agencies and functions in teams with other clinical & support staff. S/he documents and bills for mental health and case management services and completes outcomes information. May be requested to obtain additional certifications as needed. The population served includes Children, Adolescents, and Transition-Age Youth (TAY) in field-based / community settings (schools, homes, and local community facilities). Clinical services include comprehensive mental health care, psychiatric evaluation, Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), individual/family therapy, and multidisciplinary care delivered by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and clinicians. The length of stay is outpatient/community-based, varying according to individual treatment plan and progress. This role involves interagency collaboration and transition support with school administrators, county social workers, probation officers, and case managers, as well as case management, parent partner support, life skills development, and wraparound community support services.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related mental health field.
- Valid California Driver's License with a driving record that meets company eligibility policies.
- Two years’ experience in a mental health field with age group(s) to be served by the position in residential or outpatient settings preferred.
- Active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) for Mental Health Specialist II (MHS II).
- Active licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed clinician (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC) for Mental Health Specialist III (MHS III).
- Ability to speak Spanish Required.
