We invite you to partner with us in our mission to improve mental healthcare. This is a Part-Time position within the Youth Inpatient Psychiatric Health Facility. The facility is a 24/7 inpatient involuntary program with a 16-bed capacity for youth (ages 12-17) dealing with acute psychiatric symptoms. It offers intensive treatment programs with individualized care plans and is available for contracting with Central Valley counties. The program moves clients through five phases: admission; engagement; learning; stabilization and linkage to resources and aftercare. SBHG currently employs approximately 1,900 people at more than 45 different sites throughout California, serving over 30,000 adults, children, youth and families annually. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Active registration or licensure with the California BBS (or equivalent board) as an AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
  • At least one (1) year of direct service experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents in a healthcare setting (relevant student internship or practicum hours may be substituted).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an inpatient acute setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares a comprehensive written psychosocial evaluation and assessment for admitted clients.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings and is responsible for a coordinated treatment plan for each client.
  • Provides individual and family psychotherapy.
  • Leads or co-leads psychotherapy, psycho-educational and therapeutic activity groups.
  • Responsible for permanency planning including assessing client's readiness for discharge; coordinating and planning with treatment team; making appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services; and coordinating benefits with Business Office personnel.
  • Prepares and submits client documentation in EMR according to specified timelines.
  • Provides consultation as needed with families on issues regarding admission, discharge, and aftercare plans.
