About The Position

Benchmark Human Services is a respected leader in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health, serving people of all ages through various programs including residential services, employment support, crisis response, and early intervention. The Georgia Community Action Treatment (CAT) program is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to serve regions 1 and 2. This program offers a safe and effective alternative for children with serious behavioral health conditions causing family crisis, aiming to equip families with the skills and support needed for sustained improvement. The CAT program's goals include strengthening family and support systems for youth and young adults to promote community living, reducing out-of-home placements (including psychiatric hospitalizations and DJJ involvement), improving family and youth functioning, decreasing substance use, facilitating transitions into age-appropriate services, and increasing overall health and wellness.

Requirements

  • Minimum Licensed as LMSW, LAPC, or LAMFT in the state of Georgia
  • One year experience providing outpatient mental health services to youth and families
  • Valid BLS, CPR, and basic first aid certification
  • Verbal de-escalation skills and physical management training certificate
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Georgia
  • Unrestricted license to work independently in the State of Georgia
  • One-year of experience working in child welfare
  • Prior experience providing Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST)
  • Prior experience providing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral member of a team prioritizing the safety and well-being of children, adolescents, adults, and family units.
  • Conduct various evaluations to assist in assessment, treatment planning, and interventions.
  • Support, advocate for, and link families to community resources to foster self-sufficiency, building on community strengths and cultural groups.
  • Flex schedule to provide clinical services, on-call support, and case management as needed.
  • Perform community-based duties and responsibilities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive individualized initial assessments and all service plans with goals and objectives.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings with the Department of Child Services for safety planning for assigned cases.
  • Establish and maintain routine collaborative meetings with community partners to promote partnerships.
  • Synthesize information from treatment records, risk stratification, and other sources to assess program enrollees.
  • Apply knowledge of care coordination techniques in assessing individual needs and determining interventions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in job duties and schedule to better serve the organization, individuals, and meet high-quality standards.
  • Accommodate scheduling flexibility for crisis situations.
  • Document all case activity in accordance with program policy and maintain case records in compliance with agency, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings and training sessions to enhance team performance.
  • Provide family advocacy as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for all assigned individuals and families.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to supervisor or department supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
