About The Position
The Mental Health Clinician shall provide the Department of Corrections, Central Detention Facility, Health Services Division, comprehensive medical care as delineated by UHC. The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing comprehensive social work services within the DC Corrections Mental health Unit.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
- Current and unrestricted license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mental health services, preferably in a correctional or forensic setting.
- Experience with diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards pertaining to mental health and corrections.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with substance abuse treatment modalities.
