About The Position

Performs diagnostic assessment and therapeutic treatments in local public schools, including crisis intervention with some guidance. Maintains contact with family and community agencies and makes referrals. This is a 10-month schedule. Metro Nashville School clinic based.

Requirements

  • Patient Assessment (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient assessments in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Clinical Counseling (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate clinical counseling in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Patient Diagnosis (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient diagnosis in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Peer Leadership (Fundamental Awareness): Works well with others. Is receptive to ideas and suggestions from team members. Meets with peers and others whenever necessary. Shares ideas and workload with members of the team. Demonstrates initiative when dealing with others. Strives to overcome assignment obstacles before seeking support.

Responsibilities

  • Provides initial assessment and develops plan of care according to TN Department of Mental Health Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Provides targeted evidence based interventions into clinical practice with patients.
  • Acts as clinical liaison with patient, family, treatment team and community.
  • Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.
