About The Position

The Mental Health Clinician II will work within the Mental Health Outpatient Program at A Woman’s Place. This role involves facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, maintaining a client caseload, meeting billing expectations, completing assessments, developing treatment plans, and participating in care coordination and clinical supervision. The position requires adherence to established policies and procedures, attendance at training and meetings, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Registration and assigned intern/associate number with either Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) and/or Board of Psychology (BOP) in the State of California.
  • Registration with regulating Board in good standing.
  • Must meet Medi-Cal Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist requirements.
  • Master’s degree plus two (2) years experience in a mental health setting, Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years experience in a mental health setting, or Associate’s degree plus six (6) years experience in a mental health setting
  • Proficient in documentation, utilizing strong clinical language skills.
  • Must have an understanding of the interconnection between complex medical conditions, substance use disorder, and mental health disorders.
  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel as well as G-Suite applications and the ability to work in a networked computer environment.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
  • TB clearance and proof of COVID-19 vaccination within 7 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bicultural, bilingual Spanish speaking or other SF Threshold Language strongly preferred
  • California ADP Certification.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with San Francisco billing databases (i.e. EPIC).
  • Experience working with at-risk client populations.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Medi-Cal.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Maintain a client caseload of 12-15 clients for FT, 6-8 for PT
  • Meet billing expectations for monthly Units of Service (UOS) as outlined in the following: Full Time: Mode 15 = 2,350 min/mo & Mode 45 = 1,290 min/mo; Part-Time: Mode 15 = 1,175 min/mo & Mode 45 = 645 min/mo
  • Facilitate group therapy on topics appropriate to client needs & demographics.
  • Complete assessments under the supervision of the clinical supervisor(s).
  • Conduct consultation with clinical staff regarding diagnoses and assessments.
  • Develop and update client treatment plans.
  • Act as Officer of the Day as assigned; consult with supervisor about case presentation and assignments.
  • Present formal case formulations to the team.
  • Submit documentation and notes independently while consulting with supervisor(s) as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client charts.
  • Participate in care coordination and clinical supervision sessions.
  • Assist with new client orientation.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures; attend training and meeting attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
