About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of service in Spokane, dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment to adults, youth, and seniors facing behavioral health challenges. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, FBH believes in recovery and empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives. The Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) is an intensive, community-based multidisciplinary team offering person-centered care to adults whose needs exceed traditional outpatient services. The PACT team provides comprehensive support, including case management, therapy, assessments, employment and housing assistance, family support, substance use services, and other critical supports for successful community living. The team operates on a rotating weekend shift schedule, with compensatory time off during the week for weekend work. The Mental Health Clinician II role involves direct client services such as engagement, supportive listening, psychoeducation, skill-building, crisis intervention, resource education, treatment plan development, and progress monitoring.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field from accredited college or university.
  • Must apply for a Counselor Agency Affiliated – Registered credential from the WA State Department of Health within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, be able to pass a motor vehicle screening and driving test, have active car insurance, and be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience providing clinical behavioral health services preferred.
  • Knowledge of service delivery models including groups, skills training, brief/focused therapy, community-based interventions for adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and statues pertaining to the treatment and delivery of mental health services.
  • Knowledge of and experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy modalities.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, trauma experiences, cultures, education level and socio-economic status.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to send and receive oral and written messages, in a clear, positive, prompt, and appropriate manner, while maintaining customer confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • When required by the outpatient program, MHC IIs who hold a credential (i.e., L-AAC, LMHCA, LMFTA, LICSWA) eligible to be a Mental Health Professionals will provide initial intake assessments for persons seeking services at FBH to determine individual meets medical necessity and eligibility for FBH outpatient services.
  • Involves comprehensive assessments, preliminary diagnoses, and treatment recommendations for both youth and adults.
  • Involves completing Consent to Release Confidential Information with the client and guardians, when appropriate, for any current and past behavioral health treatment, involved allied service provider, and natural supports.
  • Intakes should be completed concurrently with the client.
  • Accurately determine the program assignment for individuals who are enrolled.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed, including facilitating access to inpatient facilities for behavioral health care.
  • Represent the agency and its services to the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, including regular supervision and daily clinical staff meetings.
  • Participate in any required training, consultation calls, and onsite visits or review when required by contract.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday coverage shifts as needed.
  • Accept delegation and follow through with specific expanded assignments and responsibilities within FBH system such as quality improvement teams, task groups, committees, consultations, mentoring or training responsibilities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with; clinical, administrative, support staff, community partners, clients, and family/natural supports.
  • Contribute to out-reached based, consumer-centered treatment, rehabilitation, and support. 80% of services must be provided on an outreach basis in the community.
  • Identify and include the client’s support network and applicable involved community partners in care coordination.
  • Develop and implement care plans, measurable objectives and obtainable goals, in collaboration with the client, evaluating client progress and adjusting as needed.
  • Assist clients in identifying and accessing resources and collaborate with community resources on behalf of clients.
  • Assist clients in the development of healthy coping mechanisms in individual or group settings.
  • Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
  • Operate as a member of multi-disciplinary team and ensure services are provided in the community and clinical setting in required by contract.
  • Requires travel to see clients in the community and travel between work sites either via FBH owned Vehicles and/or personal vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.
