About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience serving the Spokane community. We provide evidence-based treatment to adults, youth, and seniors facing various behavioral health challenges. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, we are committed to the belief that recovery is possible and clients can lead fulfilling lives. Elder & Adult Services offers in-home and agency clinical assessments and services to clients aged 21 and older, utilizing the Gatekeeper Case Finding Model to proactively identify and assist those in need. Elder Services acts as a primary access point for resources promoting independence and quality of life for vulnerable older adults. Services include case management, outreach, individual and group therapy, psychiatric medication management, and peer support. In this role, you will deliver trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based therapy within an FBH outpatient program. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, providing therapeutic interventions, developing and implementing recovery care plans, educating clients, advocating for them, and conducting risk assessments while monitoring progress towards goals in virtual, office, or community-based settings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field from accredited college or university.
  • Must apply for a Counselor Agency Affiliated – Registered credential from the WA State Department of Health within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, active car insurance and must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience providing clinical behavioral health services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide episodic, trauma-informed, person-centered therapy utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner, in accordance with agency policies and practices.
  • When required by the outpatient program, MHC IIs who hold a credential (i.e., L-AAC, LMHCA, LMFTA, LICSWA) eligible to be a Mental Health Professionals will provide initial intake assessments for persons seeking services at FBH to determine individual meets medical necessity and eligibility for FBH outpatient services. Involves comprehensive assessments, preliminary diagnoses, and treatment recommendations for both youth and adults. Involves completing Consent to Release Confidential Information with the client and guardians, when appropriate, for any current and past behavioral health treatment, involved allied service provider, and natural supports. Intakes should be completed concurrently with the client. Accurately determine the program assignment for individuals who are enrolled.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed, including facilitating access to inpatient facilities for behavioral health care.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate client treatment groups.
  • Represent the agency and its services to the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, including regular supervision and weekly clinical staff meetings.
  • Participate in any required training, consultation calls, and onsite visits or reviews when required by contract.
  • Accept delegation and follow through with specific expanded assignments and responsibilities within FBH system such as quality improvements teams, task groups, committees, consultations, mentoring or training responsibilities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with clinical, administrative and support staff, community partners, clients, and family/natural supports.
  • Include the client’s support network and applicable involved community partners in treatment and any applicable care coordination.
  • Coordinate with treatment team regarding treatment progress and discharge planning and operate as a member of multi-disciplinary team providing services in the community, virtually, and clinical setting in compliance with any treatment models.
  • Develop and implement care plans with measurable objectives and obtainable goals, in collaboration with the client, evaluating client’s progress and adjusting as needed.
  • Meet productivity standards in accordance with agency program guidelines.
  • Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.
  • Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday, and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
  • May be assigned to supervise interns.
  • Maintain professional credentials, including continuing education as applicable.
  • Requires travel to see clients in the community and travel between work sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
