About The Position

The Department of Corrections, Division of Health & Rehabilitation Services, is recruiting for a Mental Health Clinician 3 position at the Anchorage Central Office (ACO) located in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves assisting in the development, implementation, and oversight of day-to-day services, programming, and direct care for individuals with mental illness within DOC institutions. The position also includes overseeing contract management, conducting reviews to ensure compliance with standards, and providing training to staff and contractors.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree OR Master’s degree from an accredited college in counseling, psychology, social work, child guidance, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
• Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities in Accountability, Developing Others, Managing Human Resources, Psychology, and Therapy and Counseling.
• Progressively responsible professional experience performing psychotherapeutic casework.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be fingerprinted and pass a criminal history check.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance for use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation and oversight of day-to-day services, programming and direct care for individuals in DOC institutions with a mental illness.
• Oversee all aspects of contract management, including contractor placement, supervision, and performance monitoring.
• Complete reviews to verify that mental health services and processes comply with established standards and support continuous improvement.
• Provide and respond to training needs for mental health staff and contractors as necessary to support operational and business requirements.
