About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Mental Health Clerk to join their team of medical professionals at the Arizona Department of Corrections - Phoenix facility. This role provides administrative and clerical support to the Mental Health Director and Health Services Administrator within a secure correctional environment. The days are dynamic, and security is a top priority.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate.
  • Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
  • One (1) year of clerical experience, preferably in a correctional setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct.
  • Compliance with all corporate policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Ability to pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming calls, direct/transfer calls to appropriate staff, retrieve voicemails daily, and return calls as necessary.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) to prepare reports, memos, and correspondence.
  • Utilize specific software (X-Jail, TechCare) as needed.
  • Perform clerical and administrative functions, including tracking supplies, using purchase orders for outside vendors, and distributing mail.
  • Enter client data into Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including case notes, payments, and scheduling.
  • Shred all documentation containing Patient Health Information (PHI).
  • Coordinate with the Records Department for archiving files and reports.
  • Coordinate volunteer services.
