Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Oregon Driver's License (with a clean driving record)
  • BLS for Health Care Providers (within 30 days of hire)
  • First Aid (within 30 days of hire)
  • Food Handler's Card (within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • QMHA
  • Experience with mental health patients in acute care.
  • Experience in a mental health work setting.
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct patient care for individuals with behavioral health conditions, under Registered Nurse supervision.
  • Serving as a collaborative team member to ensure patient and unit needs are met within a safe and communicative environment.
  • Conducting observation rounds, documenting and communicating changes in patient conditions to the RN.
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities, prioritizing comfort and individualized care.
  • Maintaining unit safety through rigorous monitoring and promoting a healing environment.
  • Observing and documenting patient conditions accurately, escalating concerns to the RN promptly.
  • Demonstrating competence in trauma-informed patient care across all age groups, fostering self-expression.
  • Responding calmly and appropriately to emergent situations while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Conducts observation rounds, documents patient symptoms and changes, and reports findings to the RN.
  • Assists patients with ADLs, ensures unit safety, and maintains a clean environment.
  • Responds calmly to emergent situations, de-escalates challenges, and assists with communication and social skills.
  • Utilizes Crisis Prevention and Intervention techniques, provides trauma-informed care, and may serve as a Sitter or Monitor.
  • Manages patient meals and transport.
