About The Position

At Rivermont Schools, Mental Health Associates support students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges through individualized education and therapeutic support. The role assists students with academics, daily routines, and positive behavior, working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent care and a supportive learning environment. Associates support students across age groups from elementary through high school and help promote independence in daily living skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including Outlook and Word.
• Strong communication, reading, writing, and documentation skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability as a team player.
• Patience, calmness, and resilience when supporting escalated students.
• Passion for helping students with learning or behavioral differences.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with academics, social skills, and daily living needs across elementary through high school age groups.
• Observe behavior, document notes, and share updates with the team to help adjust strategies.
• Support self-help skills, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene, to promote independence.
• Use de-escalation techniques and calming strategies to maintain a supportive, structured environment.
• Partner with teachers, therapists, BCBAs, and parents to provide consistent, individualized support.
