About The Position

Under the supervision of the PERS Program Coordinator, monitors the health, safety, and security of multiple consumers simultaneously via the electronic Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) monitors. Responds to their needs verbally and in person, or by arranging for an appropriate response. PERS runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a midnight position, 6 pm-6 am.

Requirements

  • Strong teaming skills are required for our collaborative approach to treatment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid MI driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Able to work independently with no supervision.
  • Able to discern multiple conversations and noises while external sounds and distractions are present in a room.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to learn computer operations and documentation procedures, operation of office equipment, filing, and other tasks as assigned.

  • Prior experience working with Adults with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities and/or Adults with Mental Illness preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the health, safety, and security of multiple consumers simultaneously via the electronic Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) monitors.
  • Responds to consumer needs verbally and in person, or by arranging for an appropriate response.
  • Works a rotating midnight position from 6 pm-6 am, including every other weekend and holidays.
  • Learns computer operations and documentation procedures, operation of office equipment, filing, and other tasks as assigned.
