Our core values reflect our focus on the experience of each person we support: Inclusion Partnership Respect What You'll Do: Serves as assistant to Assistant Deputy Director for DD Major Unusual Incident (MUI) program: Assists with planning, coordinating & implementing MUI program (i.e., program designed to oversee counties’ responsibilities as defined in MUI rule; ensures health & safety for people with developmental disabilities through review, oversight & monitoring actions taken by County Boards of DD [CB/DD]; identifies trends & patterns for MUI). Develops goals & objectives for unit to ensure on-going quality improvement (e.g., objectives for diminishing MUIs, training goals, etc.). Develops department/unit procedures, initiatives & strategies related to ensuring all statutory & administrative requirements are followed. May conduct or oversee independent reviews or investigations throughout State of Ohio. Prepares documents & reports regarding unit’s activities. Responds to questions & information from various entities. Supervises support staff and regional managers (e.g., trains, schedules, assigns & reviews work; evaluates performance; recommends commendation & discipline). Works to ensure a consistent statewide approach to MUIs. Triages all incidents for referral to Abuse Registry, Director’s Alerts, trends, and immediate actions for health & safety. Answers Hotline, makes referrals, makes all notifications and oversees entry into the hotline system. Acts as the Product Owner for the OhioITMS and Online Complaint Form and as a point of contact for MUI data management. Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain system functionality and support data integrity. Attend meetings to support the application and oversees testing efforts. Collect, analyze, and interpret health and welfare data for annual reporting requirements, performance measures, public records, stakeholder meetings, etc. Manages training program & curriculum for CB/DD personnel (e.g., to educate personnel on MUI requirements). Collaborates & works closely with a variety of other agency & departmental staff (e,g,. Ohio Department of Medicaid, Disability Rights Ohio, Ohio Department of Health, Compliance, Residential Resources, and Legal Services, etc.) to ensure compliance with MUI rules & regulations. Travels to represent department at various meetings, hearings, training conferences & seminars to exchange & communicate state-of-the-art information to resolve concerns & problems which impact on quality-of-life issues for clients in CB/DD & residential settings. Directs, promotes, & provides in‑service & staff development training to maintain state‑of‑the‑art practices in DD community settings. Prepares & coordinates responses to inquiries &/or complaints which may arise. Maintains confidentiality of all client information & investigations. Represents MUI in managing and overseeing communications, including website content, alerts, listserv messages, and other departmental publications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with organizational standards. Performs other related duties as assigned.
