About The Position

The Mental Health Therapist provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention on the mental health unit. This role is responsible for delivering brief therapeutic interventions in individual and family formats, including safety planning. This role is responsible for mandated reporting as needed. The mental health therapists collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute personalized treatment plans that effectively address behavioral health diagnoses and complex social needs. This role requires participation in group and milieu activities with patients as directed by unit need. The therapist is also responsible for collaborating with community agencies to ensure comprehensive care. The therapist is expected to work independently, maintain a high level of organization, and identify opportunities for collaborative work with other units and departments within the hospital. The therapist demonstrates and models Dayton Children’s values through effective interaction with patients, families, and team members while providing excellent care. Department Specific Job Details: pool position, PRN as needed no benefits or PTO serving the inpatient Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience working with patients with mental health or substance use disorders is strongly desired
  • Master's in Counseling or Social Work required
  • LSW, LPC, or LMFT license required
