About The Position
The Mender/Seamstress repairs damaged textiles using patching/sewing machines and by hand, according to production standards. May also sew on items such as name patches, labels or embroidery. Performs other tasks as required. Requirements
- Recognize colors and sizes, count and sort accurately.
- Recognize, inspect and grade product.
- Efficiently and with a high degree of skill, sew and safely operate sewing, labeling or patching machinery.
- Comprehend and follow written packing instructions.
- Comprehend and follow direction.
Responsibilities
- Grasp textiles from a cart/bin then sort, inspect and grade according to production repair standards.
- Safely and with skill operate machinery for patches, labels or stitching.
- Process textiles according to type and written instructions.
- Return repaired textiles back into service.
- Continuously meet efficiency and safety standards for the position.
- Follow instructions as directed by supervision.
- Keep work area neat and clean.
- Perform other tasks as required.
- Perform other production tasks as needed.
