Professional Expert: Men's Soccer Assistant Coach
About The Position
Mendocino-Lake Community College District is seeking an equity-minded person committed to supporting a diverse student population for a seasonal Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach position. This is a temporary, non-continuing role from August 2026 to December 2026. The position will remain open until filled. Under the direction of the Athletic Director and Head Coach, the assistant coach will help supervise, organize, and instruct in the sport of soccer. Requirements
- Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring, including a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, geographic, and ethnic backgrounds of students, staff, and faculty.
- Must possess a valid (Class C) California Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of assigned sport; principles of coaching, recruiting and matriculation of student athletes; community college mission.
- Ability to assist in coaching the assigned sport; assist with recruiting and matriculation activities; promote student and team success; positively represent the college to the public; plan and organize activities; work within a budget and college regulations; maintain accurate records; work cooperatively with others; communicate effectively; travel with the team; and work variable locations and hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be fingerprinted through DOJ and FBI and have background clearance.
- Must take a TB test (once hired and every four years thereafter).
- Within 6 months of employment, must complete required District trainings such as Sexual Harassment Prevention.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Head Coach in coaching the sport
- Assists with recruiting and matriculation of student-athletes
- May assist with developing travel schedules and itineraries, budget management, equipment maintenance, statistics, and completion of student eligibility forms
