About The Position

The Men's Locker Room Attendant keeps the locker room clean and stocked with necessary amenities, greets and assists members, reports defects, and watches for unusual activity. The role helps maintain The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa’s luxury standards and reputation while exercising discretion and professionalism.

The attendant provides attentive member service, maintains the coffee station and locker room, replenishes amenities and snacks, cleans and disinfects surfaces and facilities, and monitors the condition of locker room areas. The role also supports locker room security, promotes locker rentals, and ensures laundry bags are correctly checked, labeled, and logged before sending them to the laundry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Positive and friendly attitude.
• Willingness to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift, including frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling, reaching overhead, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in outdoor temperatures, including summer temperatures above 95°F and low temperatures below 20°F.
• Must be able to swim.
• Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one with guests, members, and customers, and to use a two-way radio clearly and accurately.
• Ability to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets, and to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
• Ability to produce, read, and understand reports, including security, incident, and police reports; analyze and process written information; and communicate report content effectively.
• Ability to work safely with chemicals in accordance with SDS sheets and applicable laws, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve members’ needs with genuine care.
• Keep the coffee station and the entire locker room clean and pristine.
• Ensure amenities work properly and supplies, including towels and vanity supplies, are fully stocked and readily available.
• Keep the fruit and snack basket full.
• Wipe down counters and wash cutting boards and knives with detergent after each use.
• Wipe down and straighten benches.
• Walk the aisles continuously to check that blinds are properly aligned.
• Wipe and disinfect telephones daily and check that each telephone station has pencil and paper.
• Check for mildew stains beneath soap dispensers, shower curtains, and in general wet areas.
• Check that each stall has toilet paper and toilet seat covers, and keep the area clean and disinfected.
• Contribute to locker room security and member safety.
• Shine shoes and perform other duties as needed.
• Promote the advantages of locker rentals to new and existing members.
• Check laundry bags for holes or defects before sending them to the laundry.
• Log each laundry bag in and out, immediately reporting discrepancies between incoming and outgoing bags to the Supervisor or Manager.
• Ensure members’ multiple laundry bags are labeled with alphabetical letters to identify which bags were sent out and received.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
